Did you remember to get your air conditioner maintained this spring? Oops . . .
So now what can you do to make sure you don’t need to make an emergency call for air conditioning repair on the hottest day of the year?
Well, it’s not too late – you can always call us for that ever-so-important routine air conditioning maintenance! But on your own, you can do some things too, to make sure your unit is working in tip-top shape!
First, make sure any greenery you have outside is trimmed and away from the AC unit itself; shrubs, trees, even weeds, should be at least ten inches away to ensure enough air is getting to where it needs to go.
Next, take a look at your air conditioner; is it filthy? That coil on the outside should be nice and clean. So go ahead and clean it, but be gentle; the coils/fins are made of aluminum, so they are pretty fragile. Your garden hose will get the job done.
We assume that in the middle of the summer you know whether or not your unit is regularly working, so you shouldn’t need to test that, but these couple of steps above will help make sure that it’s not only working, but that it’s working its best.
To really make sure you’re going to avoid the inconvenience of a full air conditioner repair in the middle of the season, it’s not too late to get the pros in to take a peek. If you’re worried, give us a call. Let us help take the uncertainty out of air conditioning maintenance.
